N2 - [Mn2(C11H13N3O)6(H2O)2][Cr(NH3)2(NCS)4]4 (I) has been synthesized by the reaction between MnCl2 · H2O, NH4[Cr(NH3)2(NCS)4] · 0.5H2O and 4-aminoantipyrine (C11H13N3O) in an aqueous solution, and its structure has been determined by IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Crystals of complex I are triclinic, space group P1 ¯ , Z = 1, a = 13.2378(5) Å, b = 15.7796(5) Å, c = 16.7703(6) Å, α = 83.194(2)°, β = 75.874(2)°, γ = 66.529(1)°, V = 3115.2(2) Å3, and ρcalcd = 1.407 g/cm3.
