N2 - The synthesis approach based on the acid-base interaction is used to synthesize 4f/4d heterometallic chalcogenide compounds. By the interaction of the acidic hydrosulfide complex of zirconium [Cp'2Zr(SH)2](Cp′ = η5-t-BuC5H4) with basic Cp*2Dy(allyl)] a heterometallic [Cp'2Zr(μ-S)(μ3-S)DyCp*2]2 complex is obtained, which is the first example of dysprosium–zirconium chalcogenide coordination clusters (1). The structure of the complex is determined by single crystal Xray diffraction. New crystalline modifications of the known sulfide complex of zirconium Cp'2Zr(μ-S)2, being the decomposition product of [Cp'2Zr(SH)2] in solution, are also structurally characterized.
