title = "Stoichiometric and Structural Diversity of Silver Hydroxymethylacetylenide Coordination Polymers",
abstract = "Addition of in situ generated hydroxymethylacetylenide (terminal C-deprotonated propargylic alcohol, prop-2-yn-1-ol, C3H3OH) to aqueous solutions of AgNO3 in 1:1 molar ratio results in the formation of two new coordination polymers, {AgNO3·2[Ag(C3H2OH)]·2/3H2O}∞ (1) and {AgNO3·3Ag(C3H2OH)}∞ (2). Storage of crystalline samples of 1 or 2 under mother liquor at 5 °C for two weeks results in a new crystalline phase, {AgNO3·2[Ag(C3H2OH)]·H2O}∞ (3). Another two weeks evolution yields {AgNO3·2Ag(C3H2OH)}∞ (4). This product can be prepared in high scale by changing the reagent ratio between the hydroxymethylacetylenide and AgNO3 to 0.5:1. All products are colorless crystalline materials, and their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. They are highly light sensitive, in particular, in the presence of trace amounts of impurities.",
