N2 - To reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere, it is very important to create compact, energy-efficient catalytic units for afterburning volatile organic compounds. A key component of such units is the catalyst cartridge. The efficiency of its operation is provided by the supply of a gas flow with a uniform velocity field. To solve the problem, an experimental model of the gas flow distributor and an aerodynamic stand for its testing were created. A set of wing-shaped inserts was used to align the velocity profile in the rotary section of the model. The form and arrangement of the blades were chosen by numerical simulation. Numerical calculations were verified on the basis of measurement of velocity fields in the model sections.
