N2 - The study focuses on the relaxation of hydrogen behind shock waves, considering one-temperature and two-temperature non-equilibrium dissociation rates. We compare the results of one-dimension simulations using non-equilibrium and equilibrium dissociation rate models. The equilibrium approaches lead to a significant translational temperature underestimation, while the dissociation rate is considerably overestimated.
