N2 - A method has been suggested for the production of nanosized silicon carbide powders by adiabatic compression of a monosilane–acetylene gas mixture in argon. The method is distinguished by a nearly monodispersed particle size distribution (the polydispersity index in no higher than 0.1), high purity, and quantitative yield.
