N2 - The joint method of a nitrogen laser pumping by electric longitudinal and inductive discharges has been proposed and experimentally implemented. The inductive discharge was formed at the stage of charging the sharpening capacitors and played the role of the API of the active volume. UV laser radiation corresponding to the transitions of 0-0(λ=337.1 nm) and 0-1(λ=357.7 nm) 2+ systems of bands of nitrogen molecules was obtained. The energy of laser radiation reached 2 mJ at a nitrogen pressure of 9...10 Torr. Enhancing pumping by an inductive discharge made it possible to significantly increase the operating efficiency of an electric-discharge nitrogen laser, and in addition, improve the quality of the laser beam.
