N1 - Funding Information: We achieved a higher stability of the micro-resonator in such a configuration (see Fig. 1d). We measured transmission perturbations for radiation with sufficiently stable spectrum passing through the micro-resonator exposed to ambient thermal drifts. The root-mean-square deviation of the transmission was measured to be 0.13 for the case without any feed-back, and 0.04 for the case with absorption within the core. We believe that thermal control through the core may become a valuable technique for a range of low-to high-power applications of cylindrical micro-resonators.
