N2 - The experiments are performed to study the liquid surface deformations caused by the thermocapillary effect. The Reflective Synthetic Schlieren method is used to restore the relief of the thin liquid film. The method is based on the analysis of two images of a background points pattern reflected from the free surface. Cross-correlation analysis between the underformed liquid layer and deformed one is used to reconstruct the displacement field. Poisson equation to obtain the free surface deformations is solved numerically. The technique allows to measure with sensitivity of less than 1μm.
