N2 - When analysing or designing monitoring networks, one of major indices of quality is a size of area that is under reliable monitoring. This size may be estimated by MENC - a mathematical expectation of a number of nodes that are connected with one special node (central node, C -node). In large networks several nodes (base stations, b -nodes) may be used for gathering information and then transfer it directly or after pre-processing to a c-node by reliable channels. In the case of homogeneous or almost homogeneous networks, reliability polynomials may be used for comparison of choices for b-nodes placement. We show how to increase efficiency of obtaining MENC-polynomials and present example of their crossing for different choices of b-node placement.
