N2 - The article deals with analysis of the current trend of indicators characterizing health of the Russian nation and negatively influencing factors. The following issues are addressed: the underfunding of the health sector, shifting the financial burden from the state to the population, inefficient use of state funds for the health protection of the population. The effect of per capita state funding on life expectancy and mortality is shown evidence from Russian and foreign statistical information.
