N2 - A theoretical model is proposed for calculating the probability of negative ionization. The affinity of a negative ion is assumed to be constant near a surface, so the calculated probability of ionization does not depend strongly on initial distance of an atom to the surface. The probability of the negative ionization of hydrogen, deuterium, tritium, and muonium on metal surfaces with low work functions is calculated.
