N2 - The prototype of a polarized molecular hydrogen/deuterium source which is based on the classical Stern-Gerlach separation scheme has been tested at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics (BINP), Novosibirsk. It consists of the circular slit nozzle cooled down to 6.5 K and the two superconducting sextupole magnets. The flux of polarized hydrogen molecules of 3•1012 mol/s was measured for a total gas flow through the nozzle of 5•10-2 Torr•l/s. The obtained results will be used to develop a much more intense source of polarized molecules.
