N2 - Numerical modelling is a powerful and well-proven tool for investigation of nonlinear polarization evolution (NPE) mode-locked fiber lasers, exhibiting various regimes of signal generation. The scalar model based on nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLSE) was used to describe evolution of dissipative solitons (DSs) in a laser cavity in the presence of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) [1, 2] and even to predict conditions of a Raman dissipative soliton formation [3]. However, a question of validity of the model was not properly investigated. In the later work [4] only a qualitative agreement between the simulation and experiment was achieved
