N2 - We present the theory of the power threshold of nonlinear effects in a cylindrical microresonator with a small effective radius variation. We demonstrate the fundamental dependence of decrements on the taper position along z. This feature makes it possible to achieve critical coupling without ultra-precise control of the distance between the microresonator and the taper. The power optimization performed in this way allows us to reduce the nonlinear threshold from tens of watts to hundreds of milliwatts.
