N2 - The review prasents a survey of the synthesis and structures of luminescent transition metal complexes with 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole ligands. Specific noncovalent interactions involving 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole moieties, which have a significant effect on the crystal packing and properties of the complexes, are analyzed.
