N2 - Time-and-space localized disturbances (wave packets), created by pulsed electric discharges in a supersonic boundary layer, were visualized using hot-wire anemometry. Experimental studies were performed on a flat plate model with a sharp leading edge at Mach number M = 2. The evolution of localized artificial disturbances generated by discharges of different duration and power was studied. The velocity of propagation of the wave packets was also determined.
