N2 - Most microfluidic devices are constructed with rectangular cross-section microchannels, where the aspect ratio significantly impacts the friction factor and, consequently, pressure losses. In this study, we investigate how the friction factor depends on the microchannel aspect ratio under different boundary conditions. The results demonstrate that, at the same Reynolds numbers, the lowest friction factor is consistently observed in square cross-section microchannels. However, the impact of the aspect ratio on the friction factor diminishes at high boundary slip lengths.
