N2 - Investigations of the excitation and development of contrarotating longitudinal vortices in a supersonic boundary layer of a flat plate are considered in this paper. The experimental study was conducted on the model of blunt flat plate at Mach 2 and unit Reynolds number Re1=8×106 m-1. Vortices in the boundary layer of the model were generated by weak shock waves from a pair of 2D-irregularities on the walls of the wind tunnel test section. The measurements were performed by a constant-temperature anemometer. According to the experimental conditions, the interaction of longitudinal vortices is not observed. Spectral and statistical data analysis showed that longitudinal vortices do not lead to a laminar-turbulent transition in the measuring area.
