N2 - The Worldwide LHC Computing Grid infrastructure links about 200 participating computing centers affiliated with several partner projects. It is built by integrating heterogeneous computer and storage resources in diverse data centers all over the world and provides CPU and storage capacity to the LHC experiments to perform data processing and physics analysis at petabytes scale data operations. In order to be used by the experiments, these distributed resources should be well described, which implies easy service discovery and detailed description of service configuration. This contribution describes the evolution of the ATLAS Grid Information system (AGIS), a central information middleware system built for ATLAS Experiment, into a common Computing Resource Information Catalog (CRIC), the framework, which is aimed to describe the topology of the LHC Experiments computing models, providing unified description of resources and services used by experiments applications. The main goal of the information system is to provide consistent Distributed Computing model definition, collect and aggregate data coming from various data providers and generic information sources (like GOCDB, OIM, BDII), store and expose different parameters and configuration data which are needed by Distributed computing software components.
