abstract = "Mythology, acting as one of the forms of reality constructor, is an integral part of culture. The emergence of virtualization and the rapid development of the communication space served as a lever for the rapid development of social myth-making, which is actively being introduced into all spheres of society, including the education system. Thanks to the virtualization of the educational environment, on the one hand, the pace of construction, development and dissemination of social myth increases, the architecture of living space is built, behavior, relationships and norms of the existing order are sanctioned, and the influence of social myth on the ways of personality formation is updated. On the other hand, by increasing the speed of spread of social myth in the virtual environment, as well as its communication accessibility, active spontaneous myth-making is carried out, influencing the formation of mass consciousness. The virtual environment is a form of communication where broad interpersonal interaction is realized through digital technologies. For social mythology, it acts as an ideal one and contributes to the construction and dissemination of social myths present in learning processes. This environment influences human consciousness and participates in the formation of personality. With the advent of new technologies, only the form of the social myth changes. The content of social myth and social mythology does not undergo significant changes. Social myth-making in the virtual educational space develops spontaneously and in an avalanche-like manner. It needs mechanisms for social regulation and, above all, control over the quality and reliability of the content offered. Such control, carried out by all actors in the educational process, taking into account the principles of freedom of expression and pluralism of opinions of participants in communication in the virtual educational space, will allow the formation of the necessary educational competencies without limiting the discussion environment and academic freedom.",
