N2 - The paper considers the task-driven approach to artificial intelligence. It is shown that, on the one hand, it generalizes such approaches as the agent-based approach and general artificial intelligence, and, on the other hand, accurately reflects the cognitive processes and purposeful behavior described in the physiological Theory of functional brain systems.
