N2 - In this paper, we describe results of Monte Carlo simulation of short laser pulses scattering in atmospheric clouds and water media. We analyze peculiarities of the photons distribution in thin cloud layers. The simulation results show that the secondary smaller luminous ring may appear for a short time in addition to the primary ring of light expanding in the cloud layer. The secondary ring appears because of local maxima of the cloud phase functions. Moreover, under certain conditions the effects similar to the expanding rings may be observed in water media.
