N2 - In this paper, we have studied a Raman dissipative solitons (RDS) oscillator at a wavelength near 1.7 microns with external cavity pumping from an erbium doped mode-locked laser. It was numerically simulated in various configurations to investigate the effects of dispersion management on the pulse characteristics and modes of operation.
