N2 - The article considers the main classification features of the category of hard-to-recover oil reserves. The analysis of changes in the dynamics of production of hard-to-recover oil in Russia is carried out. The relationship between the development parameters of the oil and gas complex and the level of socio-economic development of resource regions using the method of hierarchical cluster analysis is investigated.
