N2 - A technique has been proposed for electrothermal atomic absorption determination of Pt and Pd in glass cloth catalysts after dissolution of a sample in hydrofluoric acid, followed by treatment of the resultant solution with aqua regia. The analytical accuracy has been checked by the standard addition method. The detection limits for Pt and Pd in fiberglass catalysts are 5 × 10–5 and 3 × 10–5 wt %, respectively. The technique has been used to evaluate the content of active components in glass cloth catalysts at a level of 1.5–n × 10–3 wt %.
