N2 - In this work, the effect of substituted β-cyclodextrins on the photophysical properties of their complexes with bisphenol A has been studied using a fluorescent method. Data on the quantum yields of fluorescence were obtained for the first time for a number of bisphenol A complexes with substituted β-cyclodextrins. It has been shown that the binding of bisphenol into a complex significantly increases the lifetime of an excited state and the quantum yield of fluorescence due to the shielding of its excited state from solvent quenching by the β-cyclodextrin molecule.
