N2 - Two new Co(II) and Zn(II) metal-organic coordination polymers with 2,2'-diiodobiphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate linkers, [Co2(bpdc-I2)2(bpp)(DMF)]·0.75DMF (I) and [Zn4O(bpdc-I2)3]·7DMF (II), were prepared (bpdc-I2 is 2,2'-diiodobiphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate, bpp is 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane). The structure of the products was established by X-ray diffraction. Compound II has a three-dimensional structure with the calculated accessible volume of 53.2%.
