N2 - Various beam-based methods are widely used for machine studies and accurate tuning. A response of the beam closed orbit (CO) is routinely used worldwide for alignment of magnetic elements and lattice correction. The paper presents a beam-based field mapping technique applied for measurements of the pulsed septum magnet stray field at the VEPP-2000 electron–positron collider. A relatively slow pulse of a weak leakage field disturbs the CO allowing detecting the field longitudinal integral. While scanning with the transverse coordinate in a wide range one can measure the field map of the localized perturbation at the machine in situ.
