Organisational unit: Research Laboratory
Development of various molecular biology technologies, including next-generation sequencing methods and SNP-microarrays, enabled providing the detailed characterization of genomes of participants of large-scale population-based studies as well as obtaining other molecular "omics" phenotypes: quantitative information on the levels of transcripts (transcriptome), genome methylation (epigenome), metabolites (metabolome), glycosylation (glycome), symbiotic microbiome composition and so on. The total amount of accumulated data is now enormous. The overall aim of research in the laboratory is the development and improvement of experimental and statistical methods to analyze the "omics" data in order to find new biomarkers of complex human diseases
