Profile Information

Laboratory of structural bioinformatics and molecular modelling of NSU was founded in 2015 as a part of the program of “mirror labs” under the leadership of a visiting foreign scientist. The founder of the laboratory is Andrey Kajava, the head of the group “Structural bioinformatics and molecular modelling” in the Center for Biochemical and Macromolecular Research (CRBM) in Montpellier (France). The lab projects deal with modelling and analyzing biomolecular structures. We help wet biologists in planning experiments and interpreting their results, as well as investigating the principles of structural and functional protein organization. Various methods are used: such as homology modelling, molecular dynamics simulation, molecular docking, coarse-grained modelling. Laboratory staff provides teaching at NSU and is involved in developing new educational courses. Also, private tuition and consultations are possible. We are working together with the labs of the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology “Vector”, Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine SB RAS and other organizations. We are open to new collaborations. Our recent projects include modelling native and mutant Cas9 proteins, studying amyloid fibril formation conditions, designing anti-HIV immunogens
