Profile Information

Laboratory of Computational Transcriptomics and Evolutionary Bioinformatics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, NSU was established in partnership with Prof. Dr. Ivo Grosse lab at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany) in June 2015 as part of 5-100 project. The main Lab activities are the development of computational methods for analysis of genome-wide and transcriptome sequencing data and application of these methods to various biological problems. An important goal of the Lab is to educate specialists in the field of computational transcriptomics and bioinformatics that are capable of analyzing genome-wide data, as well as developing new methods and algorithms for solving non-standard problems.
The research in is carried out in the following areas:
1) the study of the mechanisms utilized by phytohormones to regulate plant development;
2) development of “smart” computer methods and programs for Big Data analysis in biology;
3) the study of the evolution of the morphogenesis mechanisms in plants based on molecular phylogenetic analysis
